Oris has released the Artelier Jumping Hour, a new watch with a digital hour aperture design.
Described as an "an innovative addition to the Oris collection and a remarkable adaption of the Artelier design", the timepiece does not have a traditional central hour hand, instead revealing the hour through a jumping disk at 12 o'clock. The hour 'jumps' forward instantaneously every 60 minutes.
Two intersecting counters display the minutes and seconds, through an off-centre minute hand, and a small second display at 6 o'clock.
The Artelier Jumping Hour has a 40.5 mm stainless steel case, and a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating inside. It has a silver guilloche dial with applied polished Nickel indices.
The watch is powered by the Oris automatic mechanical movement 917, and comes with a dark brown calf skin leather strap with croco pattern.
