This year, it’s the marathon’s 20th anniversary and to mark this occasion, Norqain is releasing a new watch from its Wild One collection. The Norqain NORTEQ case
The Norqain Wild One Zurich Marathon watch is a 100% Swiss-made timepiece that promises incredible lightness on the wrist. This is down to a separate top and bottom case section made from NORTEQ parts. Developed by BIWI, the custom-made screws used in this design hold the separate parts of the case together, serving as a protective cage, whilst between these sections is a blue rubber shock absorber that surrounds a titanium container holding a Manufacture calibre inside. Going back to its use as a daily companion for those with active lifestyles, the Norqain Wild One Zurich Marathon Limited Edition watch is suitable for withstanding extreme sports activities since this rubber bumper absorbs shocks perfectly. The carbon fibre case of the watch is six times lighter than steel and almost 4 times lighter than titanium. The high-performance sports watch is also water resistant to 200 meters making it perfect for water-based activities. Designed in collaboration with Jean-Claude Biver, the Norqain team and some of Switzerland’s best suppliers have come together to create this innovative design that constitutes a watch for every outdoor pursuit.

As mentioned, the new Norqain Wild One Zurich Marathon watch is limited to just 20 pieces worldwide and outlines the racecourse in blue against a white dial framed by a blue rim on top of a black carbon fibre case in a marbled effect. The titanium container inside the case houses the Calibre NN20/1 – an automatic movement that performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a power reserve of 70 hours once fully wound. The COSC-certified movement features a personalised bridge with the Norqain values inscribed onto its surface; “Adventure – Freedom – Independence”. This can be viewed through a sapphire crystal glass caseback – the same material that is used on the front of the case to protect the dial.
The new Norqain Wild One Zurich Marathon watch features diamond-cut flat skeleton indexes against the light grey map of the city, with a black-plated finish and Super-LumiNova spots. These complement the faceted diamond-cut hour and minute hands, also black-plated but filled with luminous material and a black Norqain logo. With a case that is made from 25 parts and a striking engraved mountain peak design, the new Norqain Wild One watch is a unique timepiece to own with many desirable attributes.
