The Watches & Wonders 2023 Programme – What We Know So Far
Monday - 06 March 2023
Here at Jura Watches, we’ve got all the details on what to expect throughout the Watches & Wonders 2023 week, including boutique animations, guided visits, live street entertainment and a watchmaking rally.
Since the unfortunate demise of Baselworld, Watches & Wonders has picked up much of the former showcase’s clientele, with leading luxury watch brands from all over the world coming together for a few days this month. The event will see nearly 50 world-renowned watch manufacturers unveil their latest releases at this exclusive showcase before the rest of the world sees them. From there, stockists and consumers will be able to catch their first few glimpses of these new releases before the event is then opened to the public to round off what is expected to be the biggest one yet.
The Watches & Wonders 2023 event will open on the 27th of March with a jam-packed programme that includes guided visits, conferences, a rally and several watch boutiques before it extends onto the streets of Geneva with an evening of entertainment. The lively event will comprise dancers, singers, live music and artists that will perform to mark this celebratory watch event where thousands and thousands of watch connoisseurs, enthusiasts, stockists and representatives will unite to share one thing they all have in common - a passion for Haute Horlogerie.
To round the showcase off, the Salon will then be held open to the public where watch enthusiasts can peruse the many delights on show before others back at home can. With nearly 50 innovative and legendary watch manufacturers in the line-up, our specialist team here at Jura Watches is excited to bring you all the latest information as each timepiece is unveiled during some of our most important and intense face-to-face brand meetings yet. Back-to-back appointments will go ahead where we’ll be shaking hands on exciting deals made with some of our favourite watch manufacturers to grow our already thriving e-commerce watch-selling platform back in the UK.
For watch enthusiasts, collectors and sellers alike, the Watches & Wonders 2023 event is a treasure trove of tempting delights and an event that makes each and every devoted watch fan feel like they’re part of an elite team. Some of the favourites set to attend the Watches & Wonders 2023 showcase include Bell & Ross, IWC, Montblanc, TAG Heuer, Frederique Constant and Alpine amongst many more, but what does the event’s action-packed programme look like for the week? Well, here’s what we already know…
In the City…
March 27th – April 1st
These are the dates you can expect to see the city come alive with watch talk and a series of exhibitions inside watch boutiques, not to mention guided visits and an intense programme as well as an evening of entertainment. Many boutiques will be given the opportunity to display animations of their work to demonstrate their know-how and expertise, whilst those partaking in the fun rally will have to piece together the letters “Watches and Wonders” as they scour the boutiques and cultural sites of the city in search of QR codes to scan on their mobile devices. The participants get a secret code, enabling them to enrol in a competition upon completion of the rally, where they could one of ten lucky winners to be given tickets to the weekend’s Salon event. The guided tours and events taking part in the Geneva city centre are the “Discover Geneva's historical watchmaking landmarks.” tour, whilst avid Patek Philippe fans can attend a guide around the brand’s museum to observe some of its most renowned collections. But if it is Geneva’s illustrious past that enchants you, you can book in for the “Feel the heartbeat of Geneva’s watchmaking industry” guide.
The evening of street festivities
March 30th
As the sun sets over the city’s hub of watchmaking prowess, the streets of Geneva become enlivened with the sites and sounds of Switzerland. The final event of the day will wrap up at Quai Général Guisan, where a star electro DJ will be bringing the night to a close in true street party style.
