The New Summer Colours of the Citizen Tsuyosa Watch
Wednesday - 07 June 2023
The new Tsuyosa watches from Citizen are sporty-chic integrated stainless steel models that bring a vibrant splash of colour to the wrist for the summer. Each one measuring a comfortable 40mm diameter, these new sunray dial colours are an extension of the brand’s popular steel sports watch range and are powered by in-house developed automatic movements for guaranteed precision.
Fancy colours are all the rage at the moment. We’re seeing a surge of sports watches with bright eye-catching dial colours and we simply can’t get enough of them. With that in mind, it seems that Citizen has chosen the perfect time to release some punchy new colours for its Tsuyosa collection. Alas, you still have the classic black and steel model, but should you be wanting to go all-out this summer and really grab some attention with the sports watch you’re wearing, the new Citizen Tsuyosa Collection is probably the way to go. Feast your eyes on a vivid yellow, rich green, entrancing deep blue, refreshing light blue and classic black colour – all finished in sunray technique and all begging the attention they deserve.
The steel sports watch appeal
The new Tsuyosa watches from Citizen are steel sports watches with integrated bracelets. No genre of watch has captured the imagination of devoted luxury watch fans quite like the integrated steel sports watch, and for good reason. The style of watch derives from the 1970s and 1980s when models like the Nautilus and the Royal Oak were around. Over the years, pretty much every reputable brand has had a swing at developing one – some more successfully than others. This is where Citizen comes in. Nautilus and Royal Oak watches are still on the market and for many watch enthusiasts, only a name like Audemars Piguet or Patek Philippe will do. But for those that need to shop on a budget, finding a quality steel sports watch that will stand the test of time both in style and quality is like finding a needle in a haystack, especially if you’re new to the game. The Citizen Tsuyosa watch, however, is a no-brainer. It features a solid stainless steel integrated bracelet, a colourful sporty dial, ample water resistance and is powered by an automatic movement. Here are some more details you might want to know before you pop one in your Jura Watches shopping cart.
The new Citizen Tsuyosa watches for 2023
Back in 2022, Citizen released the Tsuyosa watch collection and it got a lot of heads turning. These sporty-chic watches were cool and trendy and became even more stylish when the brand unveiled some beautiful gradient dials earlier this year. The key advantage to the line is its affordability, like most Citizen watches, so even if you wanted to wear the Tsuyosa as a holiday watch, you aren’t sacrificing a lot out of your wallet. The watches are well-equipped, well-assembled and well-designed, with a range of appealing colours that are pretty desirable, especially for the summer. The new Tsuyosa releases by Citizen are described as bringing “ultramodern sports styling” to the wrist and I think the brand has got that pretty accurate. The watches all measure a 40mm diameter and have been crafted from stainless steel, constituting a very manageable size for wearing and enjoying every day.
The new Tsuyosa watches are also equipped with baton hour markers and straight hands, which perfectly embody the chic sporty appeal of the integrated watch design from the 1970s and 80s. Here, these features are joined by a date window dressed behind a white background at 3 o’clock, as well as the “Automatic” and “Citizen” lettering at 6 and 12 o’clock. These features are all housed underneath a strong piece of anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, which provides ample protection from dents, scratches, dust, heat, light and moisture damage.
The yellow, green, deep blue, light blue and black dial colours of the new Citizen Tsuyosa watches are perfect for grabbing attention on the beach. To assist with conditions near to water and waves, the watches are all integrated with a water-resistant rating of 50 meters, so you don’t need to worry about splashes and moisture, though you should be mindful that swimming with the Tsuyosa is not recommended. Through the back of the Tsuyosa’s sapphire crystal exhibition glass is an automatic movement that can be admired as it performs. The automatic Calibre 8210 is an in-house developed engine that provides a power reserve of 40 hours and performs at a rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour. Equipped with 21 jewels, the movement is finished in a gold colour and performs relentlessly behind its sapphire and steel casework.
As mentioned, the new Citizen Tsuyosa watches are fitted on integrated bracelets made from matching stainless steel. The links on the bracelet are a mixture of polished and brushed finishes and are rounded in shape. The bracelet secures to the underside of the wrist with a stainless steel deployant clasp and a micro-adjustment feature.
