Reviewing the Bremont Solo Lady K Rose Gold Watch
Tuesday - 15 November 2022
A new 18ct rose gold version of the Lady K watch has joined Bremont’s Solo range, complete with a total of 60 scintillating diamonds on the bezel and a set of 11 diamond-adorned baton indexes on the dial.
The jewellery edition of the Solo Lady K watch collection has arrived, clad in indulgent rose gold tones and fitted with an iridescent mother-of-pearl dial. The design of the new Bremont Solo Lady K Gold watch promises something extra opulent to enjoy with elegant attire and is sure to add a touch of finesse to any lady’s wardrobe. It will join the brand’s core range of Solo Lady K timepieces and takes inspiration from a sailboat crafted by Nick and Giles’ father. The model is launched alongside four classic steel models; a vibrant ‘Blue’ and a ‘Jade’ green dial option – both of which are inspired by the great British countryside, an autumnal-coloured ‘Fawn’ model and a crisp wintery ‘Frost’ dial in silvery shades that has been inspired by the snow-capped Chiltern Hills.
Diamond-set Bremont watches are still quite a novelty amongst the brand’s outstanding collection of aviation instruments and military-based timepieces which, of course, have been geared towards male wrists before now. In fact, the Lady K was the first Bremont model to use diamonds for its core collection. One noteworthy aspect to consider when admiring this new Bremont Solo Lay K Gold watch is the fact that the watchmaker sources all of its stones ethically by following the Kimberly Process. The Kimberly Process began in 2010 and was set up by several diamond-producing states in Southern Africa, who subsequently came together to discuss and target ways of combating the trading of blood diamonds to ensure that diamonds just those showcased in the Lady K watches have no involvement in financing violence by rebel movements and their allies involved in the diamond trading industry.
Each model from the British brand’s Lady K series takes its name from the sailboat lovingly hand-crafted by the Bremont brothers’ father before he passed away. The boat was his gift to his sea-faring wife who loved to ride the ocean waves. Its design represented her artistic spirit and her thirst for adventure. Now with a more elegant and opulent look than ever, Bremont combines the sturdy design of the Trip-Tick case construction with a new palette of shimmering sunburst dials in the four stainless steel models and an additional mother-of-pearl dial for this new rose gold iteration. The other steel models feature a sky-blue, jade-green, autumnal fawn and wintery frost dial colour and come on a choice of a colour-matching embossed leather strap or a robust stainless steel bracelet.
The new Bremont Solo Lady K Gold watch
The 18ct rose gold case of the new Bremont Solo K Gold watch uses the Henley-on-Thames manufacturer’s patented Trip-Tick construction for all-around improved robustness and features a convex anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass front. The addition of a Bremont-engraved screw-down crown helps to uphold the case’s 100-meter water resistance, whilst a see-through caseback crafted from more sapphire crystal lends a clear view into the arrangement, the decoration and the performance of the model’s automatic engine.
The new Bremont Solo Lady K Gold watch features a shimmering mother-of-pearl dial with 11 rose gold-plated baton hour markers adorned with a set of three round brilliant-cut diamonds. These join a set of rose gold-plated central hour, minute and second hands, as well as a rose gold-plated date window at 6 o’clock. The numerals for the date are set against a white background, contrasting with the subtle pearly blue, lilac and pink shades of the shell-set dial. The entire dial is framed by a ring of light cast by a 60-diamond-set rose gold bezel.
Underneath the dial of this new Bremont Solo Lady K Gold watch is the modified Calibre BE-92AV, complete with a Glucydur balance wheel, an Anachron balance spring and a Nivaflex mainspring. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and comprises 25 jewels. It also provides a 42-hour power reserve and features a custom-decorated rotor that can be appreciated through a sapphire-backed case. The watch completes its eye-catching and luxurious styling with a deep pink embossed leather strap and a polished 18ct rose gold pin buckle engraved with the Bremont logo.
