Introducing the new Bell & Ross BR 05 A523 Chrono Limited Edition Watch

For the first time, Bell & Ross pays tribute to its partnership with Alpine F1 racing team in the form of a BR 05 model. Limited to just 500 pieces worldwide, the special sports watch comes adorned with the French flag, the Alpine logo, and vivid shots of the instantly recognisable Alpine F1 team’s blue livery.
The legendary tracks of the F1 circuit are treated to a timepiece once again by masters of horology, Bell & Ross. The blue, white and red livery has been done before, especially in the design of the three Bell & Ross Alpine chronographs released back in 2021 to mark the watchmaker’s partnership with the Alpine team that began back in 2016, formerly known as the Renault F1 team. Since then, we have been treated to the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 A522 Alpine watch in the September of last year, clad in a sleek all-black case. But now Bell & Ross has unveiled another tribute to the raving team. Meet the new Bell & Ross BR 05 A523 Chrono Limited Edition watch.

Drivers Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon have sported the new Bell & Ross BR 05 Chrono, complete with a special engraving of their name and their racing number. Its design is engineered for adrenaline-filled pursuits on the racetrack and is equipped with a chronograph for the easy measuring of elapsed time, both behind the wheel and on the side of the racetrack. Present on the dial of this new Bell & Ross BR 05 Chrono A523 are Alpine blue accents that feature on the flange, where a tachymeter scale is supplied for measuring speed based on distance. The colour is also seen on the chronograph hands – one in the 3 o’clock sub-dial where the 30-minute totaliser resides and the central chronograph seconds hand itself. To the left of the dial, at the 9 o’clock location, is the running seconds, whilst the central hour and minute hands have been treated with plenty of Super-LumiNova to assist with timekeeping long into the night.
Inspired by the Alpine 523 Single-Seater
The release of the new BR 05 Chrono A523 is a first for the watchmaker. It is the first Alpine-celebrated design to feature in the BR 05 model. It complements other existing models of the Alpine F1 category, featuring the colour code of the team above the 6 o’clock location and the logo in white as a counterweight on the central seconds hand. The design of this new Bell & Ross chronograph is inspired by the single-seater Alpine 523. The Formula One racing car has been designed and constructed by the BWT Alpine F1 Team for the 2023 Formula One World Championship and has been engineered for superior strength on the track. Carlos Rosillo extends; “In the search for the pinnacle in mechanical performance, the engineers at both Maisons aim to achieve maximum lightness while maintaining optimal endurance, using state-of[1]the-art techniques and avant-garde materials. Both partners retain an artisanal approach: like the Alpine racing cars, Bell & Ross timepieces are still largely assembled by hand”.
The new Bell & Ross BR 05 A523 Alpine Chrono watch features a case crafted from satin polished stainless steel that measures a diameter of 42mm. Its screw-down crown and crown guard are designed to help the case uphold its 100-meter water resistance, whilst a tough sapphire crystal glass front is designed to protect the dial from all manner of damage, whether exposed to the dust and grit on the racetrack or not. The dial itself is a graduated black colour with pops of blue complementing the bi-compax chronograph layout and the large white Arabic numeral hour markers at 12 and 6 o’clock. A discreet date window is also allocated to the 4:30 location.
Both sporty and chic, the new Bell & Ross BR 05 Chrono watch is a solid contender in the sports watch category right now. The model is fitted with the Calibre BR-CAL.326 – a self-winding movement that focuses on reliability and functionality. The new BR 05 Chrono Alpine F1 watch, with its French Flag decoration, its Alpine logo and vivid blue punches of colour, is perfectly completed with a satin-polished stainless steel bracelet and a folding clasp or a sporty black and blue calfskin strap.
