Nomos Glashütte Watch Wins Goldene Unruh Award

Introduced in 1998, the Goldene Unruh (or 'golden balance wheel') has been an annual event since 2000. A total of 426 mechanical watches were entered into the 2013 awards, with prizes given across five price categories.
The Nomos Glashütte Tangomat Datum was awarded first prize in the under €2,500 category, receiving 4,890 votes from the readers of Focus and UhrenMagazin magazines. This is the 7th time Nomos Glashütte has received a first prize Goldene Unruh award.
The Tangomat Datum is equipped with the ζ (Zeta) manufactory caliber with automatic winding, and has a stainless steel case measuring 38.3 mm. A date indicator is placed at 6 o'clock. The dial is galvanised, white silver-plated, and features tempered blue steel hands. The watch has a sapphire crystal case back, and comes with a Horween Sheel Cordovan strap. The Tangomat is described by the brand as "a masterpiece of straightforwardness."
Nomos Glashütte also received a second-place prize at the 2013 Golden Unruh awards, with the Zurich Braungold receiving the runner up spot in the under €5,000 category.
