Hamilton is Official Timekeeper of the Free Flight World Masters Tour in France.
The Free Flight World Masters Tour is a unique event where some of the world's best aerobatic pilots confront one another in free flight, performing to music. The first edition of the tour took place in Valance on 8th July and attracted 45,000 visitors. Each spectator was given the opportunity to vote for the pilot that they felt had performed the most impressive aerobatics.
Eight aerobatic pilots are taking part in the 2012 Tour, which will continue in Coulommiers on 16th September and Sainte-Maxime on 13th-14th October. Capitaine François Le Vot from the French Aviation Army Aerobatic team was voted the winner in Valance, while Hamilton ambassador Nicolas Ivanoff secured third place. The trophy presentation was made by Miss France.
The aviation event coincides with the launch of Hamilton's latest aviation timepiece: the Khaki X-Patrol. The sophisticated chronograph includes the new H21 calibre and an extended power reserve up to 60 hours, and is described as a "portable cockpit for navigating lifestyles". The turning bezel provides conversions for distances in miles (nautical or statute) and kilometres, heights or altitudes in feet or metres, volumes in gallons and litres, and weights in pounds and kilograms.
