Alpina Manufacture Watch Review
Thursday - 24 September 2015
Alpina strikes again, remaining true to their strong reputation held for 130 years. Since 1938, Alpina have been intent on designing masterpieces that embrace clean lines, unique dials, guaranteed reliability and outstanding quality. Launching the new Alpina Manufacture line proudly containing the AL-710 in-house automatic caliber secures another successful release that strengthens their identity.
The swiss manufacturer delves deep into their rich history locating the Alpiner Automatic Model from the 1950s. A nostalgic glance that became an inspiration for the new contemporary line that embodies the concept of swissness. Admired by the gentleman “alpinist” who seeks understated elegance fused with intricate watchmaking, the Alpina Manufacture marries a classic influence with a modern outlook. Peer through the scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass to admire the vintage cream dial with applied pearl numerals that is encased with a clear cut stainless steel case and lugs.
To showcase the beautifully decorated in-house AL-710 the 41.5 mm case-back is purposely transparent. The movement is intricately finished with Cotes de Geneve and circular graining to project a delicate yet powerful presence through the case-back. To emulate the 1949 Alpina 582 Manufacture caliber the black-coated ball bearing rotor that oscillates back and forth is a modern reminder of the previous pendulum rotor. In the instance that the Alpina Manufacture has been fully wound the power reserve reaches 42 hours.
The beautiful, exquisite timepiece filled with nostalgia for the yesteryears is finished with a dark brown genuine leather strap.
