Nomos Glashütte Watch Metro Wins German Design Award

The Nomos Glashütte Metro has been awarded with the renowned German Design Award for its "youthful and cosmopolitan, elegant and straightforward" design.
The German Design Award is one of the foremost international design prizes, celebrating high quality products and innovative personalities in the German and international design worlds. A panel of 15 experts chose the Nomos Glashütte Metro for the 2015 award.
"The German Design Award is a huge honour for me," said Mark Braun, the designer who created the Metro. "It’s a recognition for my design work and a confirmation of a successful cooperation with an excellent company."
The award is the ninth prize for Nomos Glashütte watches in 2014 alone, joining the iF Product Design Award (Ahoi), Red Dot Design Award (Lambda Weißgold), Watch of the Year (Ahoi and Tetra 27 Karat), Goldene Unruh (Orion 38 grau, Ahoi Datum and Lambda Roségold), and Luxe!Design Award (Ahoi).
Around 120 awards have been presented to Nomos Glashütte watches since the launch of the brand.
"Despite our success, every new prize is just as important and significant as the very first one, as it is a recognition of a great deal of hard work," said Judith Borowski, responsible for brand and design at NOMOS Glashütte. "We are delighted about it, drink a glass of champagne to celebrate, and then simply carry on."
