With the GB team finishing in second place on the medals table in the Olympic Games this year, it got us thinking. As the gold medal can be won by one-hundredth of a second leaving many gasping for breath, timing is literally everything to these athletes. Training and timekeeping go hand in hand with professionals competing with their own personal best scores to arrive and deliver an exceptional performance.
Sport watches take their role extremely seriously with precision, accuracy and reliability at the top of their agenda. As athletes fasten the timepiece to their wrist the weight, strap material and movement need to be carefully considered. The sports timepiece becomes a close companion that supports every step of the way; a significant, exact device that is non existent on the wrist.
We’ve gathered together a few examples of watches that boast sporting excellence. If inspired by the GB team to take up a sport you may just need a timepiece to secure to your wrist even if it is just to cheer the professionals across the finish line!
