Meet the Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer Chronograph Watches
Thursday - 04 May 2023
Hamilton’s latest exciting news is an addition to its Jazzmaster collection. A cornerstone in the brand’s diverse portfolio of luxury watches with a resolutely classic character but with a sporty spin. The new additions go by the name of the Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer and come in a range of beautiful dial colours and sizes. The models are offered in a three-handed automatic version or a chronograph version, also powered by an automatic movement. The Jazzmaster Performer is the latest sub-series to join the board collection, where iterations like the Viewmatic, the Day Date and the Open Heart have all proved to be incredibly popular amongst fans of the Swiss watchmaker.
In this article, we’re going to look at the latest chronograph offerings of the Jazzmaster Performer. The three models measuring a 42mm diameter have been released alongside seven new thee-handed time-only models measuring a mixture of 38mm and 34mm diameters. The Chronograph models, however, are larger in size and are powered by a different movement. You can check out the 38mm and 34mm Jazzmaster Performer Automatic watches here, but in short, you can get the 38mm models in steel with dark blue and black dial options (the former on a matching leather band and the latter on a sophisticated stainless steel bracelet) along with a white dial version in a rose gold PVD coated stainless steel option. For the smaller 34mm models, you can get the stainless steel options in dark blue, light blue and black, alongside a mother-of-pearl dial version with a rose gold-coated bezel and traditional stainless steel lugs and case. Each of the new models features a fixed bezel with a 60 minute scale. Mainly these bezels are finished in a brushed effect but some iterations come with a coloured bezel, like the black 34mm models, for example. Now it’s time to have a look at the new Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer Chronograph watches. Let’s see what the Swiss brand is offering in this new Jazzmaster range, complete with a sportier twist and a resolutely contemporary character.
The new Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer Chronograph watches
As mentioned, the new Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer Chronograph watches measure a diameter of 42mm and come in a choice of three different dial colours. The designs, as Hamilton explains, are centred around dynamism and action – each one having been crafted from robust stainless steel with a 100-meter water resistance. The top of each model is also capped with a strong piece of scratch-resistant and anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass. Under this durable housing, the dial and the mechanical heart underneath are kept free from damage caused by scratching, denting, shock, moisture, light and heat.
The four different chronograph versions of the new Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer are each equipped with a fixed tachymeter bezel. Two black dial options are offered on a black perforated leather band or a classic stainless steel bracelet option-each one with a refined folding clasp. The models feature a black ceramic bezel with a trio of chronograph counters located on their dials. The deep blue version is also designed in the same way, with a brushed steel bezel and a matching deep blue perforated leather strap. Lastly, a white dial option features a rose gold PVD-coated stainless steel case combined with a black tachymeter bezel. Nickelled hour markers and hands feature on all the models apart from the rose gold coloured indexes and hands seen on the white dial variant. This model evokes a chic yet luxurious look on the wrist, leveraged further by the technical appeal afforded by its chronograph dial. The sub-counters comprise a 30-minute sub-scale at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour totaliser at 6 o’clock and a small seconds sub-counter at 9 o’clock.
Inside each of the new Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer Chronograph watches is the automatic Calibre H-31, which features a Nivachron balance spring to improve overall mechanical performance. It also provides a total power reserve of 60 hours once fully wound and performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Whether you are new to the Hamilton Jazzmaster watch or not, these new Jazzmaster Performer Chronograph watches are packed full of sporty charm, injecting a chic and classic twist into the line, whilst compromising on nothing in the way of performance and precision.
