Gucci Releases New G-Timeless Watches for Spring 2024!

The new Gucci G-Timeless watches sport a new ridged bezel and come in a selection of different dial colours for a style to suit every taste.

Gucci has been the face of fashion watches since 1972, but what took everyone by surprise was its shift from a designer watch brand to a manufacturer that knows its stuff when it comes to crafting mechanical timepieces. Let’s look at what the brand has recently launched from its G-Timeless watch collection.

Gucci’s Watchmaking Universe 

Gucci has been offering watch designs for over five decades. Its designs bridge the gap between casual-sporty and elegantly sophisticated. Over the years, the brand has decorated its dials with iconic House symbols like the Gucci Bee, Star and Snake. Gucci only began dabbling in mechanical wristwatches a few years ago, however, upping its efforts as a competitor within the luxury watch market. In 2021, the brand’s watchmaking efforts shifted up a gear when the House launched its High Watchmaking series. The collection was years in the making and, once launched, showed a deep understanding of the subject, with knowledge absorbed over 50 years. Gucci’s goal was clear from the beginning – to bring something new to an entirely saturated market. 

By the time the third High Watchmaking series came out, Gucci was focussing on a journey through the magical cosmos, with a strong focus on the universe, stars and planets. Tourbillons, moonphases and perpetual calendars were among some of these complicated timepieces. The worldwide managing director for Gucci watches and jewellery has extended on the brand’s most recent direction, explaining;

About the G-Timeless Collection

The G-Timeless watch collection has been around for fifty years. The design was first launched in the 1970s and became instantly loved for its bold and unisex look. Gucci was already respected for its innovative, daring designs and became one of the first fashion houses to branch out into timepieces. Today, the line has grown considerably and offers the wearer a perfect blend of impeccable craftsmanship and modern design. 

Within the collection are Gucci watches for men and Gucci watches for women. The collection even includes the iconic Bee motif that the brand uses as one of its House symbols. Just two years ago, Gucci celebrated 50 years of watchmaking. Now the brand continues to build on its modern designs having grown as an expert in the field of timekeeping. Once the brand had transitioned from a well-established luxury fashion house into a watchmaker, Gucci decided to relocate to the heart of Switzerland – the hub of Haute Horlogerie. The strategic move landed itself in the city of La-Chaux-de-Fonds, nestled in the beauty of the Jura Mountains. With new designs continually added to its most popular existing collections like the G-Timeless range, Gucci has become a serious contender in the luxury watch category.

Gucci’s manufacturing facilities comprise several different departments looking after various aspects of the watchmaking process. The brand combines quality craftsmanship with special decorative touches that look and feel high quality. Assembly and diamond setting happens in one department of the watch manufacturer, while the dials receive their finishing touches in the company’s Fabbrica Quadranti facilities. During the time of the move, Gucci was the first of its kind to expand into watchmaking. Its first model – the Gucci Model 2000 - earned itself a spot in the Guinness World Records when in 1974, it broke the record for selling over 2 million timepieces in 2 years. 

New Gucci G-Timeless Watches

Now, let’s look at the most recent G-Timeless watches to arrive on the scene. Gucci has released a bold new slew of timepieces for ladies and gentlemen that are always on the go. The models still have a strong focus on style and quality and come in options for women and men. A total of 7 timepieces make up this slew of new watches – 3 men’s models and 4 women’s models. Among the new collection is the first women’s watch to feature a champagne pink dial. These new Gucci timepieces welcome an updated and streamlined silhouette that is defined by its eye-catching ridged bezel and a solid integrated three-link stainless steel bracelet.

Three of the new Gucci G-Timeless watches measure a 40mm diameter and are geared for male wrists. These are all powered by an automatic movement and feature a blue, black or silver coloured dial. The latter of the three comes in a bi-colour format of stainless steel and yellow gold, while the blue and black dial variations are completed in steel bodywork.  These models feature small second sub-dials at 6 o’clock, which donate a subtle technical look to the timepieces.

Four smaller 29mm models are also available for women. These comprise two mother-of-pearl dials in pink or white with studded diamonds for the hour markers and a further two models that have been adorned in diamond decoration at 3 and 9 o’clock. One of these features a pink champagne dial, while the other is a two-tone version crafted from stainless steel and yellow gold PVD. For the two-tone version, Gucci adorns the ridged bezel in the yellow gold finish and matches it with the stick hour markers and central hands. The hour markers around the periphery of the dial are accompanied by the Gucci lettering to match the rest of the new releases. All of the models share the same 100-meter water resistance and come fitted on stainless steel bracelets that enable them to be worn with casual or smart attire.
