G-Shock Watches Donates To RAF Benevolent Fund
Thursday - 08 January 2015
The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAF's leading welfare charity, helping over 60,000 people in the past year alone. The fund provides a range of services to members of the RAF family, including childcare centres and youth workers on each Station, relationship counselling, and assistance with financial, housing and medical needs.
The donation from Casio G-Shock follows the release of a limited edition G-Shock watch in November 2014.
The G-Shock GPW-1000RAF was developed in collaboration with RAF pilots and designed to be the 'ultimate pilots watch'. The timepiece was inspired by the durability of the RAF's Chinook helicopters and bears the RAF logo.
As with all G-Shock watches, the GPW-1000RAF is highly durable and designed to withstand extreme conditions. Functions include a hybrid system of Atomic Time Keeping and GPS for accuracy, and carbon hands that can withstand up to 12Gs while in rotation.
"We are delighted to support the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund in the great work they do with RAF personnel and veterans," said Tim Gould, Head of Marketing at Casio UK.
Philippa Gullen, RAF Benevolent Fund Head of Corporate Fundraising, added: "We are absolutely thrilled with Casio's support of the RAF Benevolent Fund. Last year the charity spent over £18 million supporting RAF personnel and veterans which would not be possible without the help of supporters, like Casio."
