Reviewing the 2023 Raymond Weil Noemia Watches

Raymond Weil has released three new models to its Noemia line. All three timepieces exude a timeless elegance and come in dials of shimmering silver and a rich rusty red. If you’re a lady and you’re looking for an elegant wristwatch that can easily double-up as a refined piece of jewellery during the evening, these three new Noemia watches for 2023 are certainly worth a look at. First, a little about the brand that made them…

A short introduction to Raymond Weil

Raymond Weil has been around since the mid-70s and was born during the height of the quartz crisis. Raymond’s goal, from the very beginning, has always been to save the tradition of authentic Swiss watchmaking but at the same time, lead the way forward in new and innovative designs. Raymond Weil, the founder of the company, first discovered his passion for watchmaking when he worked for Camy Watch Stroun Frères SA, the family company. Over the years, Raymond expanded his distribution network across Europe and in the 1980s, he entered America where his timepieces were met with resounding success. Helping to guide this expansion was his son-in-law who joined the company in 1982. In 1999, Raymond Weil founded and opened up its own research and development department in Lancy, Switzerland, which would result in the company’s very first in-house developed calibre, the RW1212. These numbers, although they appear pretty non-descript on first impression, are actually a reference to the Lancy post-code where this first movement was born.

In 2014, a new president and CEO took over the company after Raymond Weil’s passing. Benheim then became president in 2016, whilst his son became company CEO. Today, Raymond Weil has a diverse range of collections on offer, from the popular Freelancer watch – the brand’s flagship design, to the Tango line that offers GMTs, chronographs and diving watches, to the Parsifal collection which came along in 1991 and even those ranges dedicated to ladies alone, such as the Shine and the Noemia. This leads us to three new releases from the Noemia collection, in particular. One comes with a captivating red dial, whilst the other two – a stainless steel version and a two-tone version both feature a silver dial with a sunray-style pattern that radiates from the centre outwards.

The Noemia watch collection by Raymond Weil

The Noemia watch collection has been attracting women since the year it first launched in 2009. Known for its sensual curves and loved for its classic dials, the range enchants and seduces at the same time without overpowering the wrist. It is described by Raymond Weil as a design that “will keep on subtly awakening the sensuality that lies dormant in each one of us” and has been dedicated to female wrists far and wide with its range of styles spanning from stainless steel models with scintillating diamond-set bezels to indulgent two-tone models crafted from stainless steel with rose or yellow gold PVD coated elements.

The name Noemia is taken directly from its founder’s goddaughter and has been created in her image, capturing a sense of innocence and delicacy. The poetic yet mysterious name is a memorable one and recalls the family dimensions of the Genevan brand perfectly. Just as his little granddaughter has grown up, so has Raymond Weil’s Noemia watch collection, which now boasts mature designs that were given a remake back in 2013. The watches from this series now feature finely set cases with delicately rounded lines that have grown longer, with voluptuously formed horns that merge with a refined stainless steel bracelet. The links of the bracelet are defined by their polished and brushed finishes, whilst the straight and pure contours of the case are pleasing to the eye. Here are the new Raymond Weil Noemia watches for 2023.

The new Raymond Weil Noemia watches for 2023

The first of the three new Noemia watches we’re showing you today is the 5132-STP-00456 model with a deep rusty red dial and luxurious yellow gold-coloured Roman numeral hour markers that alternate with glistening diamond dots. These precious stones pick up the light effortlessly, casting a spectrum of light and colour across the dial and highlighting the delicately tapering central hour and minute hands. In between the polished links of the stainless steel bracelet are flecks of PVD-coated yellow gold that look incredibly refined against the skin. The bracelet secures comfortably to the underside of the wrist with a folding clasp that has been engraved by master craftsmen at Raymond Weil and finished with the brand’s logo. Inside the 32mm case of this new Noemia watch by Raymond Weil is a Swiss-made quartz movement, which sits behind a closed steel caseback.

The second model to share with you is the 5132-S2S-00966 reference, crafted from polished stainless steel and featuring the same 32mm diameter. The top of the case, like all Raymond Weil watches, has been sealed with a piece of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass that has been treated with layers of anti-reflective technology. Underneath this glass front is a shimmering silver dial with a sunray-type effect that radiates from the centre of the dial outwards. This section separates the markers dedicated to the hours, with alternating Romon numerals and diamond dot hour markers once again chosen for this design. In this timepiece a neat row of delicate round diamonds has been meticulously secured into the steel bezel, adding a halo of light around the dial.

The third new model from the Noemia series is the reference 5124-S2P-00966, which boasts a two-tone stainless steel and yellow gold PVD case and bracelet. This time, measuring a 24mm diameter, the watch features alternative hour markers and diamonds once more, but with a yellow gold finish. The crown is also coated in a yellow gold PVD finish and is sheltered by a layer of blue lacquer to match the other models. Redefining style and feminine grace, this watch is fitted on a two-tone bracelet and is also powered by a reliable Swiss-made quartz movement to guarantee unfaltering accuracy. The diamonds on the bezel add a frame of light around the same sunbeam effect around the edge of a silver dial.
