Introducing the Bremont MBII King Charles III Limited Edition

In what was one of the most significant weekends in British history, millions came together to support and celebrate the crowning of a new King last week. His Majesty King Charles III swore to uphold the law and the Church of England on Saturday 6th May, backed by the nation as he was anointed with holy oil and given the Royal Orb and sceptres, whilst the solid gold St Edward’s Crown was placed upon his head. During the commemorative weekend, a ceremonial guardian of the Tower of London was pictured wearing a very special timepiece. The Yeoman Warder elegantly styled the new Bremont MBII King Charles III Limited Edition watch on his wrist whilst guarding the crown jewels at the Coronation event on Saturday. The watch completes a unique pair of timepieces that have been released in celebration of this poignant mark in Royal British history and is clad in a sophisticated black outfit. Just 100 pieces of the Bremont MBII King Charles III Limited Edition watch have been made available through a select few boutiques and the Bremont website itself. The Henley-on-Thames watch manufacturer is synonymous with expertly engineered instruments for the aviation industry, so it comes as no surprise to learn that the wrists of those pilots involved in the King’s Coronation flypast were also equipped with these legible and highly robust timekeeping tools. In the past, we have seen Prince Philip sport a bespoke pocket watch at the late Queen’s Jubilee celebrations and the manufacturer was also commissioned to create bespoke car clocks for Queen Elizabeth II’s collection of Jaguar cars. It seems that the watchmaker’s connections with royalty are inextricable following the long-standing partnership it upholds with Ministry of Defence (MOD) honouring His Majesty’s Armed Forces. The design of this limited edition Bremont MBII King Charles III watch, however, is based on the company’s Martin Baker series.
The new Bremont MBII King Charles III Limited Edition watch is crafted from stainless steel and incorporates the brand’s Trip-Tick case construction with a knurled jet black barrel and a soft iron inner cage to protect the watch’s movement from damage caused by magnetic fields. The movement is also protected within an anti-shock movement mount within a case that is 100-meter water resistant. The top of the case is fitted with a strong piece of anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The underside of the watch is closed and has been decorated with the King Charles III Coronation emblem upon its surface. A polished inner bezel that rotates bi-directionally is also included within the design and features a Roto-Click® bezel. Overall, the timepiece measures a diameter of 43mm and sits at a height of 14.5mm.
The Bremont MB watch lends itself to a very customisable design, making it the perfect choice for the new commemorative timepiece to mark the King’s Coronation. Its sleek black dial is intercepted by luminous material that glows richly on the hands and hour markers in the dark. These sword-shaped central hour and minute hands and an hour track represented by Arabic numerals are accompanied by a purple seconds hand. A deeper black outer frame on the dial occupies the minute track as well as a red-trimmed triangular marker at 12 o’clock to match the red Martin Baker reference above the date window at the 6 o’clock location. Propelling these hands around the dial is the modified Calibre BE-36AE, which provides a power reserve of 38 hours once fully wound and performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
