WatchPro Rising Star of the Year 2015: Junghans
To be entered into the Rising Star Category, the brand’s success and leadership status in the industry is put into account; considering all elements from the work carried out at the HQ or from a more local distributor or agent. WatchPro finally selected Junghans for the following reasons:
- The Max Bill - Described as the ‘showpiece collection of the brand,’ WatchPro was particularly impressed by the minimalist design, unique colourways and domed dials showing spectacular integrity, design and technique; a shining example for rivals to follow.
- Monica Porracin - The UK success that the Germand brand has received is primarily down to Monica Porracin who via her distribution business - the Blue Company - took on Junghans in 2014. Since, her input has allowed for the brand’s awareness to grow dramatically winning two awards in the process.
- Collaboration - The alliance of brilliant design and Porracin’s dedication and hard work, have led the Germand brand to be unstoppable! A powerful duo that have put Junghan on a platform for watch experts, retailers, journalists and fans to admire.

The Oris Divers Sixty-Five timepiece was named as their Sports Watch of the Year due to its ability to incorporate heritage with diving technicality. Reviving a model from the 1960s with a little adjustment to size and at an accessible price is the winning formula that impressed the experts.
