Maurice Lacroix Pontos S Extreme Watch Review
Monday - 16 November 2015
Maurice Lacroix is a progressive brand, continuously pushing boundaries with bold new designs, incorporating state of the art materials and know-how. The latest Pontos S Extreme proves to be no exception.
The 43mm case of this model is presented in ‘natural’ coloured Powerlite®, a unique alloy exclusive to Maurice Lacroix. Powerlite® is an alloy of aluminium, magnesium, titanium, zirconium and ceramic which is twice as hard as steel but only a third of the weight. The unusual ‘natural’ shade takes on the colour of its immediate environment.
However, there is nothing natural about the bold orange accents on the dial, eye-catching strap or the ring encircling the unique ‘elapsed time controller mechanism’ crown adjacent 2 o’clock. The overtly cheerful use of orange tones magnificently contrasts with the black sun-brushed dial with its tri-compax layout delivering a fresh and youthful appearance.
The previously mentioned ‘elapsed time controller mechanism’ crown operates the colour matched internal rotating bezel, proving very useful when measuring the period of specific events.
The Maurice Lacroix Pontos S Extreme shows, once again, that the watch company from Saignelégier has an amazing prowess at delivering affordable luxury watches which harness engaging aesthetics and technical ingenuity.
