Tissot Watch is Official Timepiece of Madison Square Garden
Monday - 16 April 2012
Officially titled The World's Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden is a multi-purpose arena in Manhattan, New York, hosting major events in sport and entertainment.
“We are pleased to have Tissot join our lineup of industry-leading marketing partners at Madison Square Garden as the first ever Official Timepiece," said Greg Economou, Executive Vice President of Revenue Performance for MSG Sports. "As the producer of some of the most precise and elegant timepieces in the world, Tissot will help ensure our fans are on time to see their favourite teams and events at The Garden."
Tissot will be featured on Madison Square Garden's 7th Avenue Marquee (seen by more than 600 million people each year) and the 8th Avenue Marquee, counting down the minutes to the next Knicks and Rangers games. During the games, the Swiss watch brand will use GardenVision (the centre-hung scoreboard) to highlight the history of the teams: features entitled 'A Moment in Rangers History' for Rangers, and 'Tissot Turn Back the Clock' for the Knicks. The brand will also provide clocks to be displayed in the lobby and box office.
Madison Square Garden is currently undergoing a state-of-the-art renovation during the offseason shutdowns. A Tissot countdown clock will also be featured on the Madison Square Garden Transformation website, counting down to the completion.
Tissot President François Thiébaud expressed the brand's excitement at being the first Official Timepiece of the arena, saying: "As Official Timekeeper for many renowned and international sports and other major international events, including the World Championships of MotoGP, Basketball and Ice Hockey, this association with the World's Most Famous Arena is a perfect fit. We look forward to taking part in the memorable moments that happen in this arena and to sharing them with fans in the great City of New York and around the world."
