The movement sits inside a smaller case compared to the former Hijri Perpetual Calendar watch, which measured a 44.5mm case. The new version measures 42mm and sits at a height of 11.2mm. Thanks to its ergonomic design, the new iteration promises uncompromised wearer comfort. Its stainless steel case features a platinum bezel. Combined, these two materials boast a subtle contrast of noble lustres. The case and Integrated bracelet pair beautifully with the most palpable of dial colours. What is the Hijri Calendar?

The Hijri calendar, featuring the Arab calendar, is based on the cycles of the moon and makes up a 30-year cycle. Each year consists of 12 months that are either 29 or 30 days long. Each 30-year cycle also comprises 19 common years that consist of 354 days and 11 years consisting of 355 days. The 12 o’clock location shows the 30-year cycle with beige abundant years and white common years. Then, at 3 o’clock you can access the numbered months of the year. The 9 o’clock sub-dial shows the days of the month with an aperture indicating whether the month is a 30-day month (beige) or a 29-day month (white). Then, at 6 o’clock, there is a moonphase display that shows the positioning of the celestial body from both Northern and southern hemispheres, beautifully crafted from aventurine.
