Thursday - 23 May 2019
The Indy 500 has earned legendary status, a race that all drivers strive to win. An explosive, thrill seeking, adrenaline-rushing race that brings the speed demons to the track thirsty for victory. Unbelievable speeds are witnessed hoping to be the best racing against the clock, shaving seconds off each lap – 200 in total. TAG Heuer pay tribute to the temple of speed with their newest release the Carrera Calibre 16 Chronograph Indy 500 Limited Edition.
Bringing the speed intensity, power and fast paced energy to the wrist, the dynamic black, white and red chronograph captures the essence of the Indy 500 with its strong colour palette and references to the race. The Indy 500 logo – the gold wheel and wing emblem - sits proudly at 6 o'clock contrasting against the crisp white subdial. The name is also written in red at 1 o’clock on the black ceramic bezel tachymeter. Turn the watch to find another logo engraved on the steel caseback including the date and race number. It is this Sunday 26th May that the 103rd race will take place continuing it’s iconic legacy in the motor racing world. The brick background is a nod to the race’s nickname ‘Brickyard,’ which refers to the original track that was built using over three million bricks.
Catch a glimpse of the TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 Chronograph Indy 500 Limited Edition from every angle and understand why the Indy 500 is so important to both spectators and drivers themselves.
The limited edition is a proud reminder of TAG Heuer’s role as Official Timekeeper of the Indianapolis 500. Since 2004, TAG has been associated with one of the oldest annual races worldwide, which brings in about 300,000 spectators each year.
It only seems right that the Carrera model was modified to showcase their link with ‘the greatest spectacle in racing.’ The line up is known for its contemporary aesthetic inspired by the sport. The 41mm Carrera Calibre Chronograph was the perfect platform to represent the Indy 500 in style.
