Reviewing the Bremont Solo Lady K Steel Watches

It may be a rarity but rich green pastures against a cloudless blue sky is a vision that denotes the very best of the British countryside. That’s the inspiration behind two of the five new Bremont Solo Lady K watches for women – four of which have been developed from the more conventional stainless steel material – a fifth crafted from indulgent 18ct rose gold. Alongside the Solo Lady K Blue and the Solo Lady K Jade watches in steel are the ombre colours of autumn, depicted in the new Bremont Solo Lady K Fawn watch and the crisp clean hue of the Bremont Solo Lady K Frost watch, inspired by the snow-capped Chiltern Hills in winter. Lastly, to embody a design whole-heartedly devoted to luxury and affluence is the sumptuous glistening mother-of-pearl dial of the new Bremont Solo Lady K Gold watch.

Whichever Lady K watch catches your eye from Bremont’s esteemed Solo watch collection – all models feature the same 11-baton index track. Each hour marker comprises a set of three scintillating round brilliant-cut diamonds. Today, we’re going to look at the four ladies’ stainless steel variations of the new Solo Lady K watch, although the new 18ct rose gold iteration can be explored in more detail here.

All four of the new steel Bremont Solo Lady K watches measure a diameter of 34mm and have been developed from Bremont’s patented Trip Tick case construction. It’s Bremont’s special bodywork with its own recognisable DNA. Whilst the vast majority of other luxury watch brands on the market have a two-piece case construction, Bremont’s cases comprise three pieces. The ability to create cases this way ensures that Bremont watches can look unique amongst other standard watch designs. The lugs appear to melt over the sides of the case bezel in an elegant and beautiful way that resembles the edge of a wing section. Machined independently, the pieces of a Bremont case developed under the patented Trip Tick technology comprise of the case bezel, the case middle and the caseback.

Each model from the British brand’s Lady K series takes its name from the sailboat lovingly hand-crafted by the Bremont brothers’ father before he passed away. The boat was his gift to his sea-faring wife who loved to ride the ocean waves. Its design represented her artistic spirit and her thirst for adventure. Now with a more elegant and opulent look than ever, Bremont combines the sturdy design of the Trip-Tick case construction with a new palette of shimmering sunburst dials, adorned with diamonds that are conflict-free and ethically sourced. The process of diamond selection for a Bremont watch follows the guidance of the Kimberly Process. The Kimberly Process began in 2010 and was set up by several diamond-producing states in Southern Africa, who subsequently came together to discuss and target ways of combating the trading of blood diamonds to ensure that diamonds just like the ones the Henley-on-Thames manufacturer uses today have no involvement in financing violence by rebel movements and their allies involved in the diamond trading industry.

Upon the surface of each of these new steel Bremont Solo Lady K watches in Sky Blue, Jade Green, Fawn and Frost colours is a set of 11 nickel-plated baton hour markers – each set with three diamonds. These 33 carefully sourced stones have a colour and clarity grading of G and VVS respectively and join a date window at 6 o’clock against a sheer white background. The diamond decoration rolls out into the surface of the bezel, where a further 60 white round brilliant-cut diamonds can be admired for their unique fire and brilliance. The halo of light formed by this diamond-set bezel brings out the rich green, vibrant blue, natural brown and frost-kissed silver shade of each dial.

Under the bonnet of the new Bremont Solo K Blue, Jade, Fawn and Frost watch is the Bremont Calibre BE-92AV, complete with a Glucydur balance wheel, an Anachron balance spring and a Nivaflex mainspring. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and comprises 25 jewels. It also provides a 42-hour power reserve and features a custom-decorated rotor that can be appreciated through a sapphire-backed case.

The 100-meter water-resistant Solo Lady K watches for 2022 from Bremont are all fitted on a choice of colourful embossed leather straps or a stainless steel bracelet. The coloured leather straps in bright blue, green, fawn and pale grey colour match their respective dials and enclose against the wrist with a stainless steel pin buckle, whilst the stainless steel bracelet option secures with a Bremont-engraved folding clasp.
