The Jura team was Thunderstruck by Raymond Weil’s latest addition to their Music Icons Series. The luxury Swiss watchmaker pays tribute to the legendary rock band, AC/DC with a new Limited Edition of 3000 pieces that hosts the in-house developed Calibre RW1212 movement taking centre stage on the dial.
Joining their spectacular line up of music-inspired timepieces, the Freelancer AC/DC Limited Edition incorporates design cues influenced by the iconic rock and roll band. Positioned at 12 o’clock is their logo instantly linking the newest member to the group, a logo that is also imprinted into the black leather strap. The masculine design with a rock attitude features a textured dial that mirrors the AC/DC high voltage bolt graphics, a feature that adds a unique edge to the 42mm black dial. Finally, the studded indexes enhance the character of the piece channeling the bad boy image of the band.
Famed for their giant riffs, macho sexual lyrics and heavy drinking, the Freelancer AC/DC Limited Edition embraces their attitude to life and music without loosing sight of their signature style and watchmaking duties. The dial is highly legible especially at night with the slender hour and minute hands receiving a luminescent treatment.
The Raymond Weil Freelancer AC/DC Limited Edition joins the likes of Bowie, The Beatles and Frank Sinatra in their series that celebrates legends within the music industry. Each collaboration is carefully chosen creating an incredible line up of iconic talent that will always be remembered through Raymond Weil’s dedication to music – the AC/DC certainly brings a unique rock edge to the collection.
CEO of Raymond Weil, Elie Bernheim states: “There is very little doubt that AC/DC is and continues to be one of the most iconic rock bands of all time and it has been a pleasure to collaborate with them. As AC/DC perfectly quoted “let there be light, sound, drums and guitars-let there be rock””
