The history of Delma watches first began in 1924 when brothers Adolf and Albert Gilomen founded Gilomen S.A. in Lengnau near Grenchen, Switzerland. However, it wasn’t until 1966, when the company was renamed Delma Watch Ltd, that the brand truly began to thrive. Located in the watchmaking capital of the world, Delma released a remarkable range of diving instruments and sports chronographs including the original Delma Periscope in 1969, their first automatic diver’s watch. Although this design did not live up to present-day standards, it started Delma’s divers’ watch tradition and continues to be a source of inspiration for some of Delma’s latest diving watch releases.
The Delma Shell Star collection is a fine example of the brand’s passions for diving and these, along with all their other divers’ watches, surpass the standard ISO 6425 for professional diving watches. For monitoring dive times, each Delma diving watch also features a unidirectional rotating bezel and a high functioning helium-valve to protect the inner workings from being damaged by internal over pressure. Delma Shell Star Watches
As already mentioned, the Delma Shell Star watch collection embodies the brand’s devotion to the world of diving and with a tough, masculine aesthetic, delivers exceptional reliability and functionality under water. Each Delma Shell Star watch is instantly recognisable for the vivid orange accents found within the design, most often outlining the luminous indexes on the dial. These piercing accents are paired with a choice of rubber or metal straps and transparent case backs where the automatic winding movement is displayed.
As with all divers’ pieces, Delma Shell Star watches are equipped with a characteristic unidirectional bezel with a 60 minute scale to help with timing decompression stages alongside a screw down crown and a screw down case back to assist in a water resistant rating of up to 500 metres. The Delma Shell Star Bronze Limited Edition is a favourite of ours for its solid bronze case destined to evolve and develop a unique patina over time. Delma Oceanmaster Watches
One of the Swiss watch manufacturer’s most iconic sports watch collections, the Delma Oceanmaster was created in collaboration with the world’s best offshore sailors with the intention of delivering inspirited timepieces equipped for the navigation of the open seas. The nautical inspired designs that you see today draw inspiration from the first edition Delma Oceanmaster released in 2016, a result of their partnership with the IMOCA Ocean Masters as the Official Timekeeper of the 2016 Transat New York to Vendée Race.
The collection has grown wonderfully since and now provides sporty aesthetics, nautical features and professional diving standards for skippers and ocean explorers. Delma Santiago Watches
One of their best-selling collections, the Delma Santiago watch instantly impresses with designs suited to both men and women. Their distinctively coloured dials and luxurious metal cases looks fantastic on the wrist but also provide exceptional functionality on water with screw down crown and case backs water resistant to 500 metres and 60 minute unidirectional bezels.
