Meet the SEVENFRIDAY T1/09 Beach Club Limited Edition Watch
Friday - 02 June 2023
The golden rays of the SEVENFRIDAY sunshine spilt upon shimmering ocean waters brings a fun and joyous edge to timekeeping with the new SEVENFRIDAY T1-09 Beach Club Limited Edition watch, complete with dynamic artwork on its dial and some specially engraved detailing on the caseback.
A couple of years ago, SEVENFRIDAY released the P3c/03 Beach Club watch belonging to the P3 series. Whereas the running theme throughout the collection has always been weighted on an engineering concept, the P3c/03 watch was both playful and refreshing, emphasising the brand’s inclination to break the mould. A hint of lime green between the 40-60 minute markers on the outer track of the dial, combined with an electric blue colour, suggested surfers vibes, backed by a motion reiterated by company founder Daniel Niederer that we should “live life as if every day is a Friday”. Calling on the need to let loose, the Beach Club watch kept us hanging in there for a hopeful successor. This wish was granted with two models in stainless steel and white acetate, creating a refreshing colour palette inspired by the Greek Isles. These two SEVENFRIDAY Beach Club watches in lipstick pink and turquoise donated a shot of colour to an otherwise clean and contemporary design. If you want to check these watches out in more detail, you can do that here.
Now, extending on this popular design, SEVENFRIDAY has released another Beach Club watch, this time in a striking blue colour and is described as a celebration of colour, adventure and summer vibes. The watch encourages fans of the brand and keen surfers to ride the waves under the summer sun with this bold and vibrant 300-meter water-resistant limited edition. Certainly more attention-demanding than the Greek Isle-inspired white models, the new SEVENFRIDAY T1-09 Beach Club watch has a yellow-adorned crown on the side of the case that matches the yellow hues of the sun motif emblazoned onto the dial between 9 and 12 o’clock. The “canvas of summer joy” is painted in sun-soaked colours and has been described as being reborn for seaside explorations in this new 45m model.
Compared to the white acetate and steel models released earlier this year, the new SEVENFRIDAY T1-09 watch offers many of the same spec details albeit with a few key differences. To recap, the P3c/12 and P3c/P10 watches both measure 47.6mm in diameter, packing a punch on the wrist. Crafted from stainless steel they have a robust bezel, crown and caseback, along with an animation ring that runs around the sides of the case, sitting underneath the bezel. Made from layers of white acetate, the bezel line (grooved and filled with pink or turquoise to match each respective design) connects to the inner part of the bezel with a sandblasted finish, whilst the crown at 3 o’clock has been engraved with the iconic 7F logo, filled with pink or turquoise. In this new blue Beach Club, we see a 45mm steel case with a grooved bezel line filled in with a blue Berlac lacquer, and a bright yellow crown decoration, along with a K1 hardened mineral glass top.
The former white and steel models were 100-meter water resistant and featured a four-layer dial construction with contoured plates and a thin chrome frame that bordered an opaline white display with a thin pink or turquoise line running around the edge. The new T1-09 Beach Club watch features this same four-layered dial construction but this time skeletonised in blue, with eye-catching motifs that depict a sun, an umbrella, a lobster and crashing waves with a cartoon-like whale’s face popping up from the water, along with a starfish and a deckchair on a sandy island to complete the scene. This playful take on the Beach Club watch is sure to create a stir amongst avid SEVENFRIDAY watch fans. The model evokes positivity and cheerfulness and promotes its use as a watch to be worn in and out of the water with a bright blue silicone band that is both durable and soft to the touch.
Further SEVENFRIDAY artwork continues into the back of the design., with a steel caseback adorned with bright blue sketches of the whale and lobster motif, along with a reference to its 300-meter water resistance and its limited edition run of just 500 pieces worldwide. Behind this decorated caseback is the TMI-Seiko NH70 movement with a power reserve of 40 hours once fully wound.
