Longines Introduces Five New Colourful DolceVita Watches
Monday - 25 July 2022
Red, blue, orange, black and green are the chosen colours for Longines’ latest batch of beautiful DolceVita watches, each one completed on a matching coloured alligator leather strap
It was not until last year that the Longines DolceVita watch collection acquired an automatic movement to power the elegant hands across its classic dial design. This was because up until then, the Longines DolceVita watch series has always been prized for its beautiful aesthetics. The range has been undeniably successful for the past two decades, yet adding an automatic movement into the range was certainly a good move. It enabled the watch to appeal to a new genre of automatic watch collectors as well as those who want to add a diverse selection of dress watches to their collection. Last year the series grew to accommodate larger sizes for gentlemen too. The long swooping rectangular case of the Longines DolceVita watch has sensual curves that are hard to miss on the wrist, but now Longines has introduced a batch of interesting dial colours to marvel at.
A total of five new coloured dials join the Longines DolceVita watch collection, just in time for Summer. They are expected to stun fans and critics alike with their vivid carmine red, spring green, cobalt blue, burnt orange and classic black shades. Following the brand’s “Elegance is an Attitude” moto, these timeless wristwatches boast the same rectangular-shaped case crafted from stainless steel and communicate the same feminine style that has long been appreciated amongst devoted collectors. There is no denying that these new coloured Longines DolceVita watches for 2022 are playful and bold. They demand undivided attention, not just for their unusual dial colours but their clean, simple and timeless case shape.
Longines has a rich heritage in developing classic Swiss luxury watches. Its catalogue contains pilot’s watches, dive watches, classic chronograph models, military wristwatches, simple time and date models, and dress watches to name just a few. During the 1990s, however, Longines began focusing on creating timepieces for ladies. Designs that adorned the female wrist with lavish materials and glistening diamonds made the wearer feel special and opulent and proved their importance across a broad market. Watches from collections like the DolceVita are such examples. In 2003 the barrel-shaped case came to the forefront of Longines’ innovative offerings, yet round wristwatches like the Longines Master remained popular collectors’ pieces. Yet the rectangular shape of the DolceVita watch has stood the test of time. Encapsulating Swiss essence and the “Sweetness of Life”, these new models are expected to be just as popular as historical models and come with matching coloured leather straps.
The rectangular dial of each new Longines DolceVita watch is paired with a set of softly rounded lugs and each model measures a width of 23.3mm. The polished lacquered dial colours will appeal to ladies who like to add a touch of colour to their attire, encouraging the wearer to be a little bolder when it comes to expressing her personality through a luxury timepiece. The dials of each iteration are beautifully minimalist and have forgone any hour markers. A simple hour and minute hand sweep over the surface of the green, black, orange, blue and red dials, powered by a reliable Swiss-made quartz movement.
Each of the new Longines DolceVita watches is 30-meter water-resistant and has been topped with a scratch-resistant and anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass front which curves slightly to meet the sides of the sapphire glass front. At the 6 o’clock location is a small second sub-dial, balanced perfectly by the famous winged hourglass logo and the Longines lettering at 12 o’clock. This new chapter of the Longines DolceVita watch collection, with softened lines and an unmistakable elegance, is certain to prove popular amongst devoted fans and new collectors alike. The matching blue, red, orange, green and black alligator leather straps enclose with a stainless steel buckle and have an interchangeable system, allowing you to transform the look of the watch with a different option from Longines’ diverse strap range.
