Just Launched: The DOXA SUB 300 Carbon Whitepearl
Friday - 01 April 2022
Polar-inspired white shades have reached the DOXA SUB 300 Carbon watch with the new Whitepearl iteration, accompanied by a black and anthracite unidirectional rotating bezel and a fully-luminous dial for complete legibility underwater.
The arrival of the white DOXA SUB 300 Carbon watch couldn’t have come at a better time. Spring is upon us and, if you’re a keen professional or amateur diver, so is the urge to take to the water. Revealed just in time for the Watches and Wonders 2022 event, DOXA confirms the arrival of a new Whitepearl member to the popular SUB 300 Carbon series. Other SUB collections will be catching up too, following on from the success of the SUB 200 Whitepearl launched last year.
DOXA has been known for its sporty, robust and powerful timepieces since 1889 and has been associated with high quality yet affordable dive tools since 1967 when it collaborated with Rolex to produce the first SUB 300T watch. Having extended its dive watch universe, DOXA watches are known for some signature design features, including its “beads of rice” bracelets and vivid orange dials.
About the Doxa SUB 300 Carbon
Last year the DOXA SUB 300 Carbon made a splash with the first carbon crafted case from the SUB 300 series that wasn’t a special edition. The core range model was made available in yellow, turquoise, navy blue, black and silver. Perhaps no colour stood out more, however, than the vibrant orange-coloured variation. All models featured a black carbon case and bezel, along with a titanium chamber that ensured maximum resistance to pressure. All of these 2021 releases, including the orange version, offered a bezel that was wide enough to accommodate a regular timing scale, but also the US Navy’s no-decompression limit table – a feature that has long been used as a reference for diver safety. This patented bezel used on the DOXA SUB 300 Carbon watch uses these two separate scales to reliably calculate and monitor dive times safely using orange, yellow or turquoise markings for the outer “depth” ring, and white for the inner “minute” ring. The legendary style of the SUB 300 was kept intact and the same can certainly be said for this latest Whitepearl addition to join the series.
The new DOXA SUB 300 Carbon Whitepearl watch
Every case from the DOXA SUB 300 Carbon series is slightly different from the next since each surface is executed with a random graining that creates a sense of exclusivity in each design. Forged from carbon, the case of each watch from this series is not only lightweight but incredibly scratch-resistant too. A fully Super-LumiNova-coated dial enables the display of this new SUB 300 Carbon watch to glow richly in low-light conditions, with blue luminous hour markers offset by the green tones of their background.
The new DOXA SUB 300 Carbon Whitepearl watch measures a diameter of 42.5mm and presents itself in tones of black and anthracite. Weighing a mere 87 grams and water-resistant to 300 meters underwater, this ergonomically formed design is perfect on the wrist whether exploring daring underwater depths or pairing it with casual attire at the weekend. During the day, its display is ice white to match the fresh clean white tones of the model’s rubber strap. Although the minute track, hour track and hands have all been treated tastefully with a generous layer of white luminous material, during the day these black elements contrast incredibly well against the whiteness of the dial. The Doxa lettering is positioned off-centre at the 10 o’clock position, whilst the Whitepearl lettering balanceS the display out at 4 o’clock.
The 300-meter water-resistant carbon case of the new DOXA SUB 300 Carbon Whitepearl watch protects a COSC-certified movement at its centre. Certified for its chronometric performance and the scrupulous requirements outlined by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètresin in terms of reliability, shock resistance, automatic winding and ease of maintenance - the movement beats at 28,800 vibrations and provides a reliable 38-hour power reserve. The new Whitepearl DOXA watch also features a boxed sapphire crystal glass front treated with layers of anti-reflective technology and a screw-down crown to help the watch uphold its water resistance. As aforementioned, the movement is also protected inside a threaded caseback and titanium chamber.
A white FKM rubber strap completes the aquatically-inspired look of this new DOXA dive watch. It secures to the wrist with a black coated folding clasp engraved with the famous DOXA fish symbol. For hours and hours of exploring underwater, the strap also comes accompanied by an adjustable wetsuit extension feature.
