Just Landed: The Rectangular Toccata Watches from Raymond Weil

Raymond Weil introduces two new additions to the Toccata watch collection for 2023, complete with indulgent two-tone rectangular cases and featuring iridescent mother-of-pearl dials
Constructing watches in much the same way a piece of music is composed, Raymond Weil watches have a strong DNA that is linked with music and art. The Geneva-based watch company is devoted to creating wristwatches that are noble, reliable and durable, not to mention elegant enough for any occasion. This can be said for collections like the Toccata. The relatively young collection has only been around for a few years but in that short space of time has attracted many watch enthusiasts for its range of striking rectangular-shaped cases and classic circular timepieces. The range is inspired by the Art Deco period of the 1920s and 1930s and is defined by its use of geometric shapes and angular lines, as well as its timeless simplicity.
Recently, Raymond Weil revealed some new additions to the Toccata line. These had rounded cases and boasted dial colours of golden champagne, white, and silver, as well as a choice between sizes of 29, 34, 39 and 42mm. With a range of different options for both men and women, these new releases are worth exploring if you need a dress watch that looks elegant whether worn during the day or night. What’s more, there is a range of straps to enjoy on these classic-looking timepieces from brown or black alligator leather bands to black calfskin leather straps and even rose gold PVD-coated stainless steel bracelets. But if you’re wanting to venture away from the conventional rounded case, the Toccata range offers plenty of rectangular-shaped models like the memorable rich green and red variants that were released last year. This year, Raymond Weil has introduced a couple of rectangular-shaped timepieces that we want to show you today, complete with beautiful mother-of-pearl dials.
The new rectangular Toccata watches for 2023 from Raymond Weil
As mentioned, the new releases we’re covering today from the Toccata line are rectangular in shape. The first of the two models is the reference 5925-SC5-00995 with dimensions of 22.6 x 28.1mm. The elegant timepiece for women is crafted from stainless steel but features a two-tone design with a polished rectangular bezel that has been finished in a rose gold PVD coating. Elegant and timeless, this beautiful Toccata watch for women has several Raymond Weil hallmarks from the beautifully engraved crown seen at 3 o’clock, (also finished in a rose gold colour) with the famous RW logo etched into its surface, to the Raymond Weil logo at the top of the dial.
This new two-tone Toccata watch is water resistant to 50 metres and holds a quartz movement at its centre. This movement powers a set of elegant blued steel hands around a shimmering mother-of-pearl dial. The hours are represented in a classic mix of Roman numerals in a rose gold colour and scintillating diamond dot indexes, whilst an inner railway track next to it is executed in a crisp black hue for the minutes. Additionally, you can make good use of a date window at 3 o’clock, set against a white background to enhance legibility. The entire surface of this captivating mother-of-pearl dial is protected by a strong piece of sapphire crystal glass and the watch is fitted on a beautiful light grey leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching and an engraved polished stainless steel pin buckle.
The second reference belonging to the new releases from Raymond Weil is the Toccata reference 5925-SP5-00995 – a variation of the same watch but with a two-tone stainless steel and rose gold PVD-coated link bracelet that adds a glamorous edge to the design. This Raymond Weil Toccata watch shares the same dimensions crafted from stainless steel, with a rose gold coloured bezel and a stunning mother-of-pearl dial that shimmers effortlessly under the light. The date window resumes its usual place at 3 o’clock, accompanied by the same blued steel hands and an hour track that boasts a mix of golden Roman numerals and diamond dot indexes. Inside the case is another quartz movement and the crown at the side of this 50-meter water-resistant case is once again finished in the same rose gold tones. The beautiful stainless steel and rose gold PVD-coated bracelet adds warmth to the design, securing to the underside of the wrist with a folding clasp that is stamped with the popular Raymond Weil logo.
