IWC Adds Green to its Pilot's Chronograph 41 & 43mm Watches

IWC is going green this year with some incredibly striking timepieces from its Pilot’s Watch range – each clad in racing green colours that will be hard to miss on the wrist. The new IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 and 43 models both come on a choice of a brown calf leather strap or a metal bracelet, distilling the timeless elegance of this versatile sports watch perfectly.
The IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph is the ultimate stopwatch for the skies. The range is diverse, offering everything from robust stainless steel models to perpetual calendars, elegant rose gold timepieces and even bronze and ceramic editions. The legendary pilot’s watch has a stopwatch function that comes in handy for measuring elapsed time whether air-bound or not. Limited edition versions that pay homage to Saint Antoine de Exupery are particularly collectable, as are the Spitfire and TOP GUN editions, equipped with in-house calibres.
If you’re looking for a modern chronograph in a classic case, the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph is an ideal option. Originating from the "Baumuster A" (Type A), Pilot’s Watch Chronograph models from IWC, each have a simple dial design that is typical of the 1940s with sword-shaped hands, luminous indices and Arabic numeral hour markers to name just a few features. Watches from this chronograph category also feature a pilot’s triangle located at 12 o’clock, whilst a day-date feature at 3 o’clock serves as a practical function for keeping on track of a busy schedule.
One of the key features of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph models by IWC is the brand’s choice to equip these instruments with an inner cage of soft iron, which protects the movement from damage caused by magnetic fields. Instead of a see-through caseback, some IWC watches from this series boast a specially engraved back that depicts a famous aircraft upon its surface. Others feature a transparent caseback, enabling you to admire the performance of the movement whilst it works. This brings us to one of the latest releases by IWC, clothed in a striking steel and green outfit.
The new IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 and 43 watches in green
The new Pilot’s Watch Chronographs come in sizes of 41 and 43mm and are all crafted from stainless steel with a choice to be made between a leather band and a stainless steel bracelet. The versatile sports watch is distinguished by its chronograph counters laid out in the 6-9-12 format. Rhodium-plated hands on the centre of the dial have been coated with Super-LumiNova to match the Arabic numerals around the hour track and the familiar triangular pilot’s mark at 12 o’clock. These features are all protected by a strong piece of sapphire crystal glass that has been treated with anti-reflective properties to rid the dial of any undesirable glare when wanting to reference the time under direct or artificial light.
The enduringly popular chronograph watch also features a shot of red in the hand of the small seconds sub-counter at 6 o’clock, whilst the other two sub-dials offer the chronograph 12-hour and 30-minute functions alongside a central chronograph seconds hand. Across the other side of the dial, the day and date windows are 3 o’clock are highly readable since they have been set against a bright white background. The 41 and 43mm models are powered by the Calibre 69385 with a 46-hour power reserve once fully wound and a performance of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The hand-made automatic movement comprises 33 jewels and a total of 242 hand-assembled components along with beautiful Cotes de Geneve decoration that can be admired through the sapphire exhibition caseback.
The new IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph watch is integrated with the brand’s innovative EasX-CHANGE system that enables a quick change over of the strap when desired. The dark brown calf leather strap option against the deep green tones of the dial is a perfect match for one another, whilst the metal link bracelet provides a sophisticated fit for pairing with elegant attire at night.
