Introducing the U-Boat Capsule 50 T5 BK BE Watch

The new U-boat Capsule 50 BK BE Limited Edition watch is exclusive to just 90 pieces in the world and has been crafted from grade 5 titanium. Its corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic case is manufactured with a patented crown protection system on the left-hand side of the case and features a design inspired by 1930s bathysphere modules.
It’s been 7 years since the launch of the U-Boat Capsule. The model was first inspired by 1930s bathyspheres and some of the world’s first undersea exploration modules. These primordial submarines had distinct characteristics that U-boat has attempted to incorporate into the Capsule watches. They featured porthole windows made from water pressure-resistant glass that was fixed to the external surface of the instrument via levers. This is reiterated in the domed sapphire crystal glass that attaches to an external bezel design in each watch, amplifying the features of the dial and the richness of its colour. Meanwhile, on the sides of the case, a long see-through slit affords another angle of the dial.

One of the main advantages of the new U-boat Capsule 50 T5 Black Limited Edition watch is its grade 5 titanium case. Titanium is an alloy that comprises aluminium and vanadium. Its high strength-to-weight ratio makes it one of the strongest materials to use within the luxury watch industry. In addition to this, it offers non-allergenic and corrosion-resistant properties. Titanium also has the advantage of lasting longer than many other materials.
The titanium case of the new U-boat Capsule 50 T5 watch also features a crown cover protection hook at the 9 o’clock location. This patented cap can be removed to enable the crown to amend the time. Limited to just 90 pieces worldwide, the watch is an appealing model to add to any collection and features a black dial with beige-coloured dial elements. It has been released at the same time as a range of U-boat Capsule 45 and 40 black and steel models with black and blue or black and beige dial designs. Also, a series of colourful Darkmoon 44 watches with black dials and vivid orange, yellow, aquamarine, white and green coloured rubber straps. Released at the Geneva Watches & Wonders 2023 event, U-Boat also unveiled two different-sized Curve Camouflage and Vintage Curve watches with respective camouflage PVD patterned and bronze-coloured cases.
The new U-boat Capsule 50 T5 BK BE watch features a mix of stick markers and Arabic numeral hour markers around its track, as well as a set of beige Super-Lumi-Nova coated central hour and minute hands. To the right of the dial between 3 and 5 o’clock is an additional 24-hour scale, as well as a discreet date window in the unconventional location of 9 o’clock. The “Made in Italy” lettering is arranged in a vertical position next to the date window and all features on the display are protected by a sapphire crystal glass front.
The new U-boat Capsule 50 Limited Edition watch is powered by a tried and tested Sellita movement to ensure unfaltering accuracy and precision. The SW200 has been modified to U-boat specifications and is concealed behind a closed caseback. It beats to the rhythm of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 41-hour power reserve once fully wound. The caseback is engraved with an image of a 1930s bathysphere module and is attached to an aged brown calf leather strap that completes the wrist stylishly and comfortably.
