TAG Heuer unveils the new Aquaracer Professional 300 Orange Diver model at this year’s Watches and Wonders 2022 event
Last year, TAG Heuer released some new models under the Aquaracer collection. Its name? The Aquaracer Professional 300 series. They comprised three 36mm references in steel, three 43mm models in steel, a limited edition grade 5 titanium model and two “Tribute to Ref 844” models in titanium, not to mention two Professional 300 Calibre 5 Automatic watches in blue and black. TAG Heuer has also released a Night Diver watch – a tribute to an original, which promised legibility and easy timekeeping whilst in the dark or underwater thanks to two contrasting shades of luminous material.
These luxury tool watches were hugely anticipated amongst devoted TAG fans. They inspired the wearer to look back on a 40-year heritage underscored by cutting edge technology and an avant-garde approach to watchmaking for underwater conditions. The models from the new Professional 300 range are geared to battle the elements, upholding remarkable water, heat and shock resistance with their chiselled physiques and robust stainless steel cases. The 12 faceted bezels of the new Aquaracer watches are bold, surrounding a selection of different coloured dials with prominent lume-filled hands. Now it’s time for TAG Heuer to extend the range once more. Unveiled at Watches & Wonders 2022, meet the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Orange Diver watch.
Amongst the brand’s 2021 offerings last year, designed in tribute to the much earlier ref, 844 model, the vivid orange dial of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 series was by far one of the most popular from the entire pick. It wasn’t hard to see why either. Its vibrant zesty tangerine-coloured dial stood out both on the wrist and underwater. Prevalent to the strong blue tones of the ocean, this new TAG Heuer Orange Diver watch is dressed in a colour that is most important to a professional or amateur diver. Bolder and brighter than before, this 43mm model follows the same design codes as the Professional 300 and features a rugged fine-brushed and polished stainless steel case with a striking 12-sided bezel.
The new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Orange Diver
In true Aquaracer form, the new Orange Diver version of the Professional 300 watch collection adheres to the brand’s 6 core dive watch features; a minimal water-resistance of 200 meters (in this case, 300 meters), a screw-in crown, a double safety clasp, a unidirectional rotating bezel, luminous dial markings, and a sapphire crystal glass. The watch’s 12-sided unidirectional rotating bezel is crafted from a black scratch-resistant ceramic that provides the perfect grip. The screw-in crown is cleverly protected by a crown guard to avoid any accidental damage. A magnifier lens hovers above the date window on the model’s anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass front, protecting Super-LumiNova-treated hands and indexes for intuitive timekeeping whilst under the dark and deep ocean.
This new reference to the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 line also features the brand’s sophisticated fine adjustment system on the strap, which can extend or reduce the length of the bracelet up to 1.5cm. This enables you to wear the watch in various climate conditions, as well as over the top of a diving suit. The new TAG Heuer Orange Diver watch is fitted on a three-row fine-brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet with a TAG Heuer shield-engraved folding clasp and double safety push-buttons.
Inside the robust case of the new Aquaracer Professional 300 Orange Diver watch, and concealed behind a screw-down caseback engraved with the familiar diver’s helmet motif, is the Calibre 5 automatic movement. Showcased throughout this new crop of Aquaracer watches released in 2021, the movement provides a 38-hour power reserve and performs at a rate of 28,800 semi oscillations per hour. Its oscillating mass is adorned with “Cotes de Geneve” decoration and the “Swiss Made” lettering.
Across the deep entrancing orange tones of this Aquaracer Professional 300 watch, black applied hour markers treated in Super-LumiNova join a set of chunky, visible hands. The angled date window at 6 o’clock balances out the dial and the black TAG Heuer logo and shield at 12 o’clock. Designed for both work and play, this extension to the popular Professional 300 dive watch series anchors the brand’s passion for developing new and innovative watches, both for the diving and sports world, recalling a legacy that spans over 160 years.
