Bremont Jaguar D-Type Limited Edition Watch Review
Tuesday - 14 May 2019
Be transported back to the golden era of motorsport with Bremont’s newest addition to their Jaguar range. Limited to just 300 pieces, the Bremont Jaguar D-type is inspired by the iconic racing car the watch is named after – the Jaguar D-type. The British duo continues their successful partnership launching their fourth design with features influenced by the legendary automobile. Sharing core values, both companies guarantee robust British engineering, timeless elegance and a design built for endurance at high speed.
Both Jaguar and Bremont celebrate a British racing icon that came alive on the racetrack 64 years ago in 1955. Today, Jaguar has re-started production of the beautiful design to complete their original goal. Over six decades ago, they planned to build 100 D-types yet only 75 were finished. Therefore, the British car manufacturer plans to complete the remaining 25 sports cars authentic to the style of their predecessors due to access to Lofty England and his engineers 1950s drawings. The Jaguar D-type has a rich history in the racing world that is worthy of its icon title - winning the Le Mans 24 Hours race three times between 1955 and 1957 due to its six-cylinder XK engine.
The handsome blue dial is as sleek as the D-type itself mirroring dashboard dials of the racing car. The partnership is immediately known with the silver logo sitting proudly at 6 o’clock. The crown is subtly etched with the original Dunlop tyre tread finished with the heritage Jaguar logo applied in enamel. Turn the beautiful design to find a large exhibition case back that reveals the stunning mechanical BE-50AE movement boasting the Jaguar steering wheel inspired rotor. The exclusive limited edition is presented in a leather wallet signed by Ian Callum, Jaguar’s Director of Design.
The Bremont Jaguar D-type sits alongside three other collaborations with the British luxury car manufacturer creating a collection that brings the spirit of design and technical expertise to the wrist. Admire the Bremont Jaguar E-Type MKII in black and white and the Jaguar E-Type MKIII. A fine line up that will continue to develop and expand as the partnership continues.
