Airshow Professional Michael Goulian Joins Bremont Watch
Monday - 29 July 2013
Michael Goulian has a full time career in the air show industry with more than 20 years of experience performing all over the world, and he is known for his extremely precise manoeuvres in the sky. In 1990, aged 22, he became the youngest pilot to ever win the National Advanced Aerobatic Championship, and later won the US National Unlimited Aerobatic Championship in 1995 - the highest level of success in aerobatic competition.
Goulian competed in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship for five years, and is one of only seven pilots to have been awarded all three of the air show industry's most prestigious awards: the Art Scholl Memorial in 2006, the Bill Barber Award for Showmanship in 2009, and the ICAS Sword of Excellence in 2012.
"When an aviation friend turned me on to the Bremont brand and the story of Nick and Giles English, I was so touched and inspired that I contacted them to see if there was any interest in working together," Michael Goulian said. "For me personally, and at Goulian Aerosports, we work in partnership only with companies we feel represent the passion we have towards our industry and Bremont certainly has that. What they have been able to achieve with their mechanical chronometers within aviation and military circles in the US over the past five years in particular is tremendous. Their drive for perfection combined with their love of things that fly make this a perfect match. It's truly my honour to be able to represent this amazing brand; I am truly honoured to be able to work with Bremont and Nick and Giles English."
Goulian will wear the Bremont U-2 Blue as part of the partnership. The U-2 Blue has a 43 mm hardened stainless steel case with Trip-Tick construction, and an inner bi-directional Roto-Click bezel. Unlike the other watches in the U-2 line, the model has an exhibition case back. It is powered by modified BE-36AE automatic movement, and has a domed anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The watch is COSC chronometer tested and is water resistant to 100 metres.
Bremont co-founder Nick English said: "Bremont and Goulian Aerosports are harmonised in many ways: a joint passion for aviation, engineering, precision and brand values are to name just a few. Mike is such an inspiration to so many pilots out there; he is the consummate professional in every respect so from our perspective the partnership is very relevant indeed."
