TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Watch Collection Review

The new TAG Heuer Carrera watches are equipped with the in-house manufactured Calibre 1887, an integrated column-wheel movement that vibrates 28,800 times per hour and has a 50-hour power reserve. It includes a re-engineered version of Edouard Heuer's oscillating pinion of 1887, working in tandem with the matching blue column wheel.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Jack Heuer Edition was inspired by the two-part construction Heuer stopwatches once used on pro racing circuits, and takes design influence from the Carrera Mikrogirder. Jack Heuer's coat of arms and signature appear on the smoked sapphire caseback.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Racing Chronograph 43MM (above left) has a 43 mm sandblasted black titanium case and ceramic bezel with tachymetre scale. The counter-inspired numerals are in hand-applied black gold. It has a scratch-resistant curved sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment, a scratch-resistant smoked sapphire caseback, and offers water resistance to 100 metres.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Chronograph 43MM (above right) is based on the bestselling Calibre 16 design. It has a 43 mm polished and fine brushed steel case, ceramic bezel with tachymetre scale, scratch-resistant curved sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment, and a scratch-resistant sapphire caseback. The watch is water resistant to 100 metres, and will be available with a choice of black or anthracite dial.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Chronograph 41MM (above left) has an elegant 41 mm polished steel case and a blue dial with hand-applied faceted indexes and polished silver hands. Features include a date window at 6 o'clock and a tachymetre scale on the flange. The watch has a curved scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment, and a scratch-resistant sapphire caseback. It is water resistant to 100 metres.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Heritage 1887 Chronograph 41MM (above right) features a silver dial with 'flinqué' effect, embossed chronograph counters and polished blue arabic numerals. The polished steel case measures 41 mm. The watch has a polished steel fixed bezel, scratch-resistant curved sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment, and a scratch-resistant sapphire caseback. It is water resistant to 100 metres and has a date window at 6 o'clock.
