Georg Jensen has created an app dedicated to its watch collection, including a virtual 'try it on' feature.
The free application is available through the iTunes store, and was designed to "take you on a journey into the fascinating world of Georg Jensen Swiss Made watches". The app includes an introduction to the brand, a complete overview of the Georg Jensen watch collections, along with information about the designer behind each timepiece. The app also allows users to virtually 'try on' the watches using a photograph of their own wrist.
Incorporating high quality photographs, 3D animation and a movie presentation, the brand believes the app brings to life its three key values: "unique quality, outstanding craftsmanship and Danish design."
Georg Jensen's use of innovative technology was also seen through a recent partnership with augmented reality specialist Holition. The collaboration resulted in an interactive shopping tool, allowing customers to browse and select products using hand gestures.
Developed for Georg Jensen's Fusion Ring, the in-store application allows customers to select features such as metal colour, diamond numbers and size to create their own jewellery design through simple waves of the hand. This use of augmented reality has been to compared to that seen in the film 'Minority Report', and paves the way for future technological innovations used by the brand.
