TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 01 Watch Review
Friday - 01 May 2015
TAG Heuer present a spectacular timepiece complete with new innovations in terms of construction, design and calibre.
Introducing the TAG Heuer Carrera - Heuer 01 - a masterpiece that honours the brands founder, Edouard Heuer. The new timepiece proudly wears such a title due to the markedly horological development of the calibre 1887 in which the foundations of the new collection will be primarily based.
The stunning dial exposes the chronograph controls plus the operation of the date disc which circles the movement beautifully. Similarly, the case back reveals it’s red column wheel, the skeleton chronograph bridge and the black weight to demand attention to the mechanism and create a complex and intricate masterpiece with a striking aesthetic. The concept has proved to be a project that has developed over a five year period through persistence, continuous improvement and optimisation. To ensure that the final price is kept to a minimum, the TAG Heuer team carefully maintained an extremely high standard yet ensuring production costs were kept as low as possible. The result presents a 100% Manufacture Chronograph available for £4k.
The case is manufactured from titanium carbide coated steel for a greater shock resistance. Making the traditional TAG Heuer technique of constructing the case via a single piece redundant, the model was produced with 12 different components. The exquisite TAG Heuer Carrera - Heuer 01 allows rooms for various combinations using differing materials, colours, treatments and finishes. In this particular edition, the silver, red and black offering is powerful, strong with an elegant and sophisticated execution. To complete the timepiece a perforated black rubber strap creates a stylish, sporty finish to ensure the identity of the brand remains intact.
