Graham Chronofighter Oversize Superlight Carbon Watch Review
Friday - 29 August 2014
The Chronofighter Oversize Superlight Carbon has a black carbon nanotube composite case with a diameter of 47 mm. The trigger, bezel, dial and buckle are all made from carbon fibre.
"Carbon is the preferred material in aeronautics, car racing, aerospace, sports and other domains that require lightweight, strength and performance," the brand explains. "By combining carbon fibre and a strong polymer matrix, carbon fibre composites are simply reshaping the world of high performances."
The start and stop lever is made of plain carbon fibre and is the result of a specific machining process that provides the watch with more stiffness and enhanced usability. Using this precise carbon fibre trigger, the chronograph facilitates the measurement of speed using a tachymeter scale and a reversed minute counter with a white painted indicator to show the starting point.
The timepiece has a black carbon dial with snailed seconds and minutes counters. The hands and numerals are coated in lime green SuperLumiNova for improved visibility. The watch has a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both faces, and a smoked sapphire crystal case back.
The Graham Chronofighter Superlight Carbon is powered by the calibre G1747 automatic chronograph movement, with Incabloc shock absorber and 48 hours power reserve. It has a red integrated Clous de Paris strap with a plain carbon fibre buckle.
