Yellow It Out Loud – The New Breiling Superocean Automatic 46 Code Yellow UK Edition Watch Has Arrived!

Breitling has released a new vivid yellow UK-only Superocean watch. The Breitling Superocean Automatic 46 Code Yellow watch is limited to just 500 pieces in the UK and has been made exclusive to us here at Jura Watches as an official UK Breitling dealer.

Say “Yellow” To the New Breitling Superocean Automatic 46

There is a reason why yellow is the colour used for important road signs, texts and emergency notices. The colour draws attention. You can’t really miss a yellow dial watch. Even the most subdued of models stand out against a steel or matt black case. In fact, when you see yellow on a watch you instantly know that it’s a timepiece that is meant to be anything but understated. The colour suits Breitling perfectly. The Swiss watch specialist who has been manufacturing robust, technical and markedly masculine wristwatches since 1885, is bold in its approach to avant-garde watch design. Its daring, confident tool watches, built for purpose, take on an instrument aesthetic and slip into the challenges of life effortlessly. It matters not, whether a watch is matte yellow, champagne-coloured or neon yellow – a yellow dial watch is meant to get noticed. And the Breitling Superocean Code Yellow watch does just that.

Breitling Superocean Watches

When you think of Breitling, the first thing that comes to mind is its expertly engineered aviation watches and pilot’s tools. What many don’t realise is that Breitling’s range of Superocean watches is just as capable of underwater exploration as its pilot’s watches are for airborne missions. The Superocean watch was released back in 1957 and appeared during the golden era of dive watches. At the time, plenty of competition posed a threat to Breitling. The dive watch stood next to the likes of the Omega Seamaster and the Rolex Submariner. Still, the brand's indestructible designs proved indispensable underwater, doubling down on their water resistance and promising a 200-meter capability.

Although initially released for the military, serious divers soon honed into the Superocean design. The modern Breitling Superocean watches that we all know today, came about in 2007, when the brand celebrated the model’s 60th anniversary. With that milestone came the release of the Superocean Heritage collection. Old school details were implemented into the dial, (namely the vintage Breitling logo) and were paired with a braided steel bracelet. The very last upgrade came to the Superocean line in 2017, however, in the form of dial colours and bezels aplenty. No matter what colour combinations arrived the key features of the Superocean range remained intact. These features still include the Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, together with triangular markers in between, which nod to the earliest Superocean watches. Now the collection offers sizes in 36, 42, 44 and 46mm and features the Breitling 17 movement. Some of the newest models of the collection can even withstand depths of 2000 meters underwater!

The New Breitling Superocean Automatic 46 Code Yellow UK Edition Watch

The new Breitling Superocean Automatic 46 Code Yellow watch comes with a set of unique features that define the Superocean 46 as a design within and of itself. It features the bezel lock on the unidirectional rotating bezel – a feature that can only be found in the Superocean 46 range. Of course, the most appealing feature of this new design has to be its extraordinary yellow dial, equipped with plenty of luminous material on its hand and hour markers.

The new Breitling Superocean Automatic 46 Code Yellow watch is a perfect blend of style and performance. Most importantly, you can instantly identify that this is a Superocean watch. Perfect for all kinds of water-based pursuits you can swim with it, lark about in it, dive with it, catch waves with it, or soak up the sun on the deck of a sailboat with it. The vibrant yellow Superocean watch won’t look out of place anywhere near the water. That said, it delivers other features that are perfect for daily life too. The Super-LumiNova coated hands and hour markers guarantee a clear display for reading the time in dark environments or at night. What’s more, its case crafted from stainless steel can be enjoyed on a bracelet or a black rubber band depending on which you prefer.

Fans of Breitling’s iconic yellow dial will be rejoicing in the fact that the vivid, summer-ready hue has now been made available in the Superocean collection.  It’s a bright, fun and eye-catching addition to any collection. The watch has been made exclusively available in the UK to authorised dealers of Breitling watches like us. It means it can be available for you to try on, should you wish to arrange a visit to one of our boutiques close to you. Alternatively, you can purchase the watch online and, while you do so, check out the online finance options we have on the watch.

The new Breitling Superocean Automatic 46 Code Yellow watch measures a 46mm diameter and is topped with a strong, cambered piece of sapphire crystal glass, which has received anti-reflective treatment on both sides to improve legibility. Underneath the sapphire glass top is the vivid yellow dial with the familiar Arabic numeral hour markers at 3, 6. 9 and 12 o’clock. The luminous-coated hands that you see at the centre of the dial along with the red-tipped second hand, are all propelled by the calibre Breitling 17, which sits inside the case’s 300-meter water-resistant housing. The movement performs at a rate of 28 800 vibrations per hour and delivers an autonomy of 38 hours once fully wound.

As aforementioned, the Superocean 46 watches, including this new vivid Code Yellow design, come equipped with the patented bezel lock. It means that the black ceramic bezel cannot be accidentally knocked to extend dive time whilst you’re underwater. Instead, the bezel stays fixed, delivering legibility with its clear 60-minute dive scale. Whether you opt for the stainless steel bracelet or the black rubber band, both strap options come fitted with the brand’s new folding clasp with a micro-adjustment feature for extending over dive suits or when the wrist naturally swells under heat.
