Tissot Powermatic 80 Movement Watch Review
Thursday - 08 November 2012
A new construction concept was developed in collaboration with ETA, integrating a new spring barrel that gives the piece a far greater power reserve than the standard 36 hours. Improvements have also been made to the regulator system, making the movement extremely precise and robust - the index-assembly has been removed and replaced by an innovative new technology.
"Tissot's spirit of innovators by tradition and ETA's expertise in the creation of movements is a winning combination," the brand says. "Both companies were able to carry each other above and beyond, leading to the production of a ground-breaking piece."
The first collection to include the Powermatic 80 movement will be the new Tissot Luxury Automatic. The range includes watches for men and women, with a 316L stainless steel case with yellow gold PVD or rose gold PVD coating options. The watches include a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and a see-through case back. Certain models also include COSC certification.
The Tissot Luxury Automatic range will be available from December with prices starting at £525.
